Antyodaya Saral Haryana

As part of a project in my Advanced Human-Computer Interaction course at IIITB, I focused on analyzing the SARAL Haryana portal. This project aimed to pinpoint design weaknesses and elevate user experience, with the overarching goal of fostering citizen-centric service delivery. Through meticulous analysis and prototyping, the study endeavored to enhance accessibility and functionality, showcasing the practical integration of HCI concepts within a real-world context.

Research Objective

The research seeks to explore whether the SARAL website lives up to its name, which means "Easy," by investigating the ease of applying for schemes and tracking their progress. It aims to understand applicants' experiences and assess whether the government's vision of "Citizen Centric Service Delivery" aligns with citizens' perspectives on the service.

  5. Scheme Selection: Search for the "Education Loan for Persons with Disabilities" scheme among the listed services.
  6. Family ID Entry: Enter the Family ID, a mandatory document issued by the government for scheme application.
  7. Member Selection: Choose the family member for whom the scheme application is being filled.
  8. OTP Verification: Receive and verify the OTP (One-Time Password) for authentication purposes.
  9. Form Completion: Fill in the required details in the application form, including personal information and loan requirements.
  10. Document Attachment: Upload the necessary documents as per the scheme's guidelines.
  11. Draft Saving: Opt to save the application as a draft instead of submitting it immediately.

The "Save as Draft" feature was utilized during the application process due to user concerns about privacy and reluctance to share personal information. The selection of the "Education Loan for Persons with Disabilities" scheme allowed for document uploads, and the Family ID was mandated for application submission.
